What we do
Bunka Farm is a vegetable seedling farm located in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.
We specialize in growing strong and healthy vegetable seedlings for home gardeners and farmers.
Today we grow more than 300 varieties of vegetable and herb seedlings, including traditional Japanese vegetables and popular international varieties.
Our mission is simple:
To help more people enjoy growing their own vegetables.
We believe that gardening connects people with nature, food, and community.

The Story of Bunka Farm
Bunka Farm was established in 1964 in Kanzaki-gun, Hyogo Prefecture.
Before starting the farm, the Ono family had long been involved in rice farming and soy sauce production in the local community.
After returning from the war, the founder Masami Ono inherited the family business. During this time, he noticed that fewer people were growing vegetables at home, especially younger generations.
He believed that growing vegetables was important not only for food, but also for connecting families and communities.
Motivated by this idea, he began learning how to grow vegetable seedlings and started supplying them to local gardeners.
This was the beginning of Bunka Farm.
Today, Bunka Farm is run by the third generation, continuing the mission of nurturing Japan’s kitchen garden culture.
